Got quite a few recommendations for the claypot rice so here we are.. it's by a chef previously from Jumbo Group... So the seafood is a must try

A thumbs up for no msg!!! Yes the soup is so "seafoody" feels like steamboat soup

Signature spinach iberico pork claypot rice @ $9.90++

I prefer this... Like the "charcoaled" rice and the taste is good! Not too salty..

Portion is not very big, just nice for me.. there's a 2 pax portion too.. same pot size but will filled full

The bowl looks big!! But it's actually very shallow.. looking good, rice with sauce makes it not very dry.. sauce has kind of herb?

Salmon skin is crispy, and salmon seems to be unseasoned.. tt explains the sauce

The rice is special! Kind of butter ride but not like the typical butter rice and there's mushroom! Egg is not very cooked, unlike those in food court

Pork collar burger served with fries / wedges

Lightly toasted buns sandwiching  piece of shredded pork collar mixed with potato and peas as the patty

First time I see this here... Usually we will get the galaxy (chocolate) instead

We are back for more pasta cos it was so good when we have it the 1st time

The pasta today is not as good as the previous.. today's seems to be slightly more cooked but still good!

Don't look oily but the taste is there 👍🏼

Alr tried pizza 🍕 previously, try something else today

Papraka mid wings @ $9

5 mid wings, the skin are sooo crispy and sooo nice, very well seasoned but thirsty an hr or two later... Got the msg feel... So disappointed though so nice

Will definitely come back for more pastas! For mid wings, is it worth the "unhealthy msg"? 🤔

So we have something close - soya bean milk

Soya bean milk @ $1.80 is normal, nothing special

Also had this carrot cake w egg @ $4.. this is very different from the normal carrot cake... Feels like those prawn/peanut pancake skin, stuffed with turnips and coated with a layer of fried egg at the top.. I shall give this a new name 'turnip pancake'

The skin is crispy but also very oily.. don't really like this.. prefer the traditional carrot cake

Rosti again.. hehe saw this on social media... Looking good, but it's average, won't purposely travel here for it

A stall in a small coffee shop with a few other food stalls

Rosti is abit small and not crispy.. seems undercooked

But can get to choose toppings (powder)

Not much of garlic, but very black peppery, in fact find it too peppery

It's more salty compared to the other and we prefer this..

Located at a HDB shop house opposite NYP

Very accessable via bicycle, PCN connecting amk or yck all the way to punggol

The baguette is quite big, very crispy sandwiching generous amount of meat and veggies (carrots 🥕, spring onions, coriander leaf), special sauce

And there's chilli with seeds! Be sure to take out cos it's spicy

BBQ pork @ $8.90

It's abit too salty but still nice, it's soft and boneless

Roasted pork @ $9.90

Feels like eating roasted pork rice without rice.. 😅 but my hub likes it! Not so for me... Don't like the thick layer of fats

Skin is crispy, soft and boneless

The baguette is so nice, think I can just have the baguette by itself

First time I see Korean porridge so we tried

Shredded chicken porridge @ $5.80

Japanese rice with a mix of brown rice.. taste is nice, hot hot and the "creamy" porridge

Bibimbap @ $6

Feels like it's rice then topped with ingredients... Not hot... Not as I expected

Enough sauce to cover the whole bowl of rice and it's not very spicy

Should be able to get better ones easily

Passed by this shop quite a few times but nv try before... Saw this on social media, so here we are!

Surprising, the food is really nice, especially the pasta

This is very nice!! 😍 Looks abit dry but the taste is there

Spaghetti is also perfectly cooked.  Not too soft nor too hard

Trio mushroom @ $13

It's for a pax portion.. super super thin crust... Really like no "bread" kind... Feels like eating biscuit 😅

Not something will want to come back for...

After trying the prawn aglio olio, we ordered another pasta but this is not as nice... It's cream based, and maybe is the type of pasta, fusili.. feels overcooked

Another foodie place spotted on social media..

It's a very loud place cos of the pubs opposite

Food is nice, and the shop is very nicely decorated

Most of the items on the menu looks good

We are comparing with Little Vietnam where we always go for Viet food.... The portion here is much lesser with a bigger price tag

Here's what we have

Bun Cha Hanoi Bun @ $12.80++

Like the sauce, but don't like the pork.. feel that got the meat smell.. hub likes it though

Vermicelli with grilled pork and crispy spring roll @ $11.80++

Portion is small... Especially the meat and veg, it's like half.. but there's a spring roll..

The grill is not as strong but still quite nice

Overall still prefer Little Vietnam.. bigger portion and better price too food wise, prefer Little Vietnam too 🤭

But my hub likes this... Yes he think that the meat here is better though.. but when price comes to the pic, Little Vietnam still gets the vote.. not really tt good that it's worth the extra cost

Malaysia food! My hub saw this at social media and since it's quite near, we are here to try!

It's crowded and quite a wide variety to choose from

It's quite similar to Penang Culture we had previously... 

The curry noodle is their signature, I see quite a lot of ppl getting this

And we tried this

Big bowl curry noodle @ $9.90

Really big bowl with yong dao foo, prawns, eggs

Curry sauce is not very spicy, but seems to have bit of MSG

The yong dao foo is nice! Noodle is okok

Penang fried kway tiao @ $6.80

Portion is not very big but filling enough

Reminds me of pad-thai 😁 I still prefer pad-thai hehe

 quite a fair bit of prawns and Chinese sausage

thought Overallof trying the dessert cos it looks nice in the menu but didn't see anyone eating it 🤔

 still not bad, shall try other dishes the next time..

My hub won't come back if it's far... But will come back again not anytime soon cos it's near

Quite normal average.. don't have too much expectation

Like the sauce which is made of milk, not very cheesey

Portion is quite small

Garlic focaccia @ $2.20

Our must have.. not filling but like the light garlicy and salty taste

wanted to have some Vietnam food at Little Vietnam, but was temporary closed so looking around nearby, tried the

hong sao pork rice 红烧大排饭 $7 

Not my type.. don't really like the meat cos got meaty smell.. but my hub likes it! Yaa if you are a meat person, you will like this

This is nice!! I like! Though it's abit oily but there's the onion fragrance.. no other sides, just purely noodles!

cong you bing 葱油饼 $4

This is nice too! Hot and crispy.. of cos the one at Taiwan night market is better!😅 Can be done at home too.. get those frozen ones... But can't be compared to Taiwan's

It's nice, will come back again.. but you're actually allowed to smoke and it's air-conditioned 😟

Cava, wanted to eat here few weeks ago but due to the long reservation list...

So today, we made reservation.. the food is nice!! Looking through the menu there's quite a few tt I wanted to try

In the end here's what we've got..

Cava Burger 🍔 @ $17++

Crispy chicken thigh with cheesy cheddar cheese 🧀, grilled pineapple 🍍, wild mushroom 🍄 sandwiched between 2 bread bun

Bread bun is crispy too! Served with parmesan fries 🍟

Just sooo nice!!!

Fish 🐟 Business @ $20++

Pan seared salmon 🐟 with grilled veggies and tomato 🍅 quinoa

Salmon is seared to perfection with the veggies.. everything seems to be so perfect.. quinoa is ok but I still prefer soup spoon's quinoa hehe maybe cos it's basil

It's a very nice place to dine and catch up.. both indoors and outdoors (still sheltered but no air con and can bring furry friends along!) There's also a small indoor garden! 🌱🌱

I'm definitely coming back again for more.. 😍

found this that serves wide variety of pizza and pastas

place is not very crowded and the staff is very friendly. its a nice place to hang out with live music (rocky songs)

noodle is chewy with seafood, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes 🍅

Taste not bad but quite common while portion is normal but quite generous in the ingredients.. quite worth the price

Pizza Pollo @ $22++

mozzarella, tomato sauce, pesto chicken, bell peppers and onions

chose this cos I saw pesto but the pesto is not very strong, prefer the pesto at Zazz

super super thin crispy crust.. feels like biscuit.. yup, no bread filling

A long 4hrs walk at macritchie.... the last time I'm here is nearly 20 years ago, cross country run...
So beyond my expectation.. always thought tt the trails are easy to walk but there's slopes up and down, stairs up and down..... Stoney path, rockey path, muddy path, woody path and easy path get them all here

Was quite crowded on a ph but the walking is not affected just tt you can hear ppl's conversations hahaha

Mostly are forest walk, surrounded by trees, and there and monkeys 🐒 around... Be sure not to have any food on hand.. cos they really come to you!! 😅

The aim is to reach the "tree top" and there's this bridge to walk, abit shakey, and there's no turn back allowed.. not very deep down, and all  are trees view throughout

Believe they are more for sashimi.. was there abt 230 and we are the only customers

Tonkutsu ramen @ $12.80++

There's salty veg which makes the soup salty.. soup base is not very thick too

Noodle is slightly overcooked and portion is not alot 

Char siew is not tt good too

Pork cutlet donburi @ $13.80

Quite alot of rice, like it topped with seaweed.. portion for pork cutlet is quite alot too

But taste wise don't think it's good...

Rice is very dry, no sauce cutlet is soggy...

Quite disappointed... Not really worth, don't like the food though we were hungry after the long walk
