Nipong naepong

My long long craving... Finally I get the permission to eat volcano rice, but sadly is out of stock.... But I found something else... Soi Chicken Risotto... This is very nice too!!! Recommended by my sis....
Unlike the normal risotto I see... This is dry, sticky Japanese rice... Jeju soy sauce with chicken, cabbage and onions topped with botino flakes and mayo.... 😋
And the tomato 🍅 Ppong... Not spicy today, unlike the previous times... Still I like the chewy ppong noodles!!
However, the milk tea is not available alr... Yaaa, it's nice to drink the milk tea with ppong tgt!!!

Korean food!! 🇰🇷
Who doesn't like Korean food?! I'm a fan after eating Yoogane
Saw this Korean restaurant when shopping at Clementi Mall few weeks ago and there's a branch at Suntec City so we came for lunch today... And we are not disappointed!! 😍😍
For a price of $18.80++, eat as much as you like..but with a time limit of 90mins... and yes they do time!
There's a quite a wide variety... Veg, meat, shrooms, noodles....
There are 2 parts to the meal... You will first have this "steam boat" with the chosen sauce.. we had Mild Spicy Kimchi Base Sauce.. the spiciness is acceptable to me being unable to take much spicy food
Using our phone, we can order whenever we need
After tt, proceed to order fried rice! At this stage, the soup have to be free from all the ingredients.. and order fried rice on the phone web... By confirming this action, most of the ingredients will not be available
Cooked items will still be available
Select steam rice 🍚, and we got all the ingredients --- seaweed, luncheon meat, corn, kimchi
The staff were friendly!
A very big ➕ point is tt the food is not salty and the sauce does not contain much msg
Especially like the fried chicken and QQ noodles, and all the other ingredients were nice with the soup 😍😍

NIPONG NAEPONG @ 313 somerset

we came on a Monday night so we dont have to q! you will have for up to 45mins on a weekend
Seafood Cha Ppong
its still as spicy or i can say its more spicy today... and noodle is still as chewy

Tomato Ppong
this is what i have... its not as spicy.. very mild spicy i should say.. best for non-spicy takers like me
i actually drank all the soup! 😋
both at $16.90++ each

MANNA KOREAN RESTAURANT @ city changi point

Changi City Point is rather empty, so dont have to q for food
Seems like only this restaurant has q, so we went to try and also thinking if the food can replace my favorite Yoogane which alr ceased operation in SG on 1 Nov2020
this is what we were served when we sat down.. kimchi, ikan billis, cabbage +cucumber salad, bean sprout + beans
O-Bulgogi $19.80++ served with rice and soup
soup is abit cold though
3 options available (beef, chicken or pork)
I chose pork and its not bad but still not as good as Yoogane but there's much more ingredients and portion is bigger too! There's emiko mushroom, onions, vermicelli, squid.. it enough for 2 pax though it's stated 1 pax
Jjamppong $14.80++
quite generous amt of seafood
however, felt the noodles a bit too soggy and the soup too salty
If you see my older post, i prefer Jjamppong at Nipong Naepong though it's more pricy
only 3/4 filled barley drink @ $1

Overall, find the food too salty.. and yes there is msg!

NIPONG NAEPONG @ 313 somerset

I'm back for Korean ppong and iron plate rice! Had pizza during my previous visit (can see my previous post), so today tried something else.. most of the dishes are seafood and spicy..
Hallasan Volcano Iron Plate Rice, $14.90++, looks good ya? 😋
This dish is spicy!! 🌶️🌶️ But somehow you will still want to eat it!
The rice is mixed with seaweed, ebiko and pickled radish...
served with 2 small portions of kimchi, adding the level of spiciness with a sourish touch
top with this special spicy sauce served separately (there's minced pork, onion, etc) to pour it over
caution: its this sauce tts spicy! dont pour all of them first!
i like the soup of Cha Ppong! So today we tried another soup based ppong - To Ppong Tomato 🍅 $16.90++
This soup is not spicy and the noodle is still so nice, springy and chewy!!

YOOGANE @ westgate

Yoogane is the first Korean food I have few years, and this is the 3rd time I'm eating (but got to travel from north east to west of Singapore)
They used to have a few branches but now Westgate is only in Singapore!

my long long craving satisfied!
kimchi pancake is a must try! @$14.80++
though abit too oily, but still so nice!
theres alot of kimchi in there, not just flour only!
the sides are perfectly cooked, hot and crispy

chicken bulgogi (small) served in a hot plate - portion for a pax.. comes in 3 sizes.. if were to have a bigger portion, will be served in a " pan"
includes chicken, leek, mushroom, capsicum, rice cake costing $16.80++
topped up for the ramyeon noodles (looks like but taste better than instant noodle) at $3.80++

It's abit pricy... But it's really nice 😋😋
Good thing is won't get thirsty after meal... So I guess minimum or no MSG? 🙋

NIPONG NAEPONG @ 313 somerset

Nipong Naepong.. Korean ppong and pizza 🍕
this restaurant was introduced by my sister... "must try"... even though she knows that I don't take seafood and my spiciness tolerance level is low
and most of the dishes are seafood and spicy (i see different level of spiciness - mild, level 1, level 2 for different dishes)
Cha Ppong
soup bases Ppong is the most popular I guess... i see that most ppl were sipping hot and spicy noodles!

I like the soup of Cha Ppong! Though the spicy level is 1, but it's alr very spicy to me... Yes, this is the spicy tolerance level I have... But somehow you will still want to drink more

noodle is springy and chewy.. nice!
sweet potato pizza 🍕
I had a pizza for myself.. though it's nice but not really that worth it.. hmm abit too dry to have it as a main course... Will be better for sharing
But the pizza 🍕 is sweet and savoury... So it's special in its own way
They serve bubble tea too! From The Alley
their menu.. a wide variety
