Reaches YouPeng, a sheltered enclosed place YOYO at abt 10am for a short half an hr break

They sells locally produced products.. maybe it's near CNY period, lots of pineapple tarts and chips

It also consist of a cafe, but choices are limited..

Had Mee Siam and Green Bean Soup... Hmmm the food is so-so only...

after hours of bus journey, finally we have reached Hatten hotel
Time check : 1pm

We are staying at LiuMen for the nite.. takes abt 20mins by foot to reach

along the way, walked pass the calm and peaceful Melaka River.. the hotel opp is Casa Del Rio.. stayed for a nite few years ago.. the room is big and the complimentary breakfast is a must try!

Here we are LiuMen hotel.. it's a boutique hotel with very Chinese style decorations

Nice welcome drink served - ginger lemongrass

room is spacious and clean

a lot of effort made to deco the hotel from entrance to lobby to rooms.. very Chinese style.. If you like ancient Chinese concept, LiuMen will definitely be the choice

Portuguese egg tart.. The egg is very soft and smooth seated in a puffy crust.. Remember to order this when you are here!

I personally isn't a fan of salted egg... But I should say the croissant is crispy! Yes, the croissant is very nice so it will be perfect if you are a salted egg lover! It's a waste they don't have it "ko-song" which means empty..otherwise I will definitely grab a few

East & West Redenvous

When I was here in Malacca few years ago, I also ate this.. And today I still eat the same

Nonya dumpling.. It's freshly hand made daily.. You will see them at the entrance of the shop..had this twice in this trip! The glutenous rice is sticky enough and not too sticky till its too soggy with the meat hidden in it... Yum!

Kaya Kaya Cafe

Came for this cos my husband had craving for toast... But this is different from the normal kaya toast that we always eat...
They also serve main course such as pasta

this is their signature.. Kaya with cheese and syrup, its abit sweet.. personally I prefer the traditional kaya toast with butter.. this is something different though.. worth giving a try!

Along the weekends night market...
On Fri-Sun nights, the main road of Jonker Street is closed for cars and there will be stalls set up along the road... You could buy all sorts of items (bags, pouches, keychains, accessories, clothes, handicrafts, etc, etc..... And so much more) not forgetting food!!! You will never go hungry here

Here are some of the food I ate...

Chinese pancake, seems like its a mixed batter with some veg..
I won't recommend an it's cold and taste ordinary... Stomach space should be saved for so many other food

I'm drawn to this carrot cake located at the seafood area cos of the fragrant! Yes it smells very very nice but lack of the wok taste... I think Singapore serves better carrot cake!

There is the stall that sells all sorts of "BBQ meat" meat in satay stick and bring BBQ.. forgot to take pictures of it... But if you see any of such, give it a try! It's very nice!!!

Also visited the Mamee Monster Museum
This place is not very big.. A cafe, a retail area and place for you to color your Mamee Monster Cup Noodle

Here's where you can doodle and color. Yes, “color” (picture is alr printed on the cup.. all you need to do is to color it!) your own unique Mamee Monster cup.. before I see it myself, I actually misunderstood.. you don’t actually get to hands on but color your own noodle cup, choose your ingredients and watch the staff get your cup noodle ready! Each cup noodle cost you RM15. The good thing is the cup is plastic instead of paper.. so you want wash it after eating your ideal cup noodle and keep it as a souvenir

San Shu Gong to grab goodies to bring back to Singapore before heading back to hotel

This is the place to get all the local products.. Chocolates, durian and coconut related products, biscuits, coffee and so much more!

The disadvantage of Hatten is that it's not near to Jonker street... It's abt 15-20mins by foot
If you are a shopping mall shopper, it is linked to a few shopping malls!

We headed to Malacca Tropical Fruit Farm via Grab. it's about 30mins ride

Yes, this place is very nature and hot!! Rmb to bring water!! No stalls selling anything here... So don't think that you can buy when you need

you could also book in advance for a "chalet" to enjoy a farm stay

The overview of the farm.. It's not very large but it's too big to go on foot... If you were to by car, you can drive it or choose to take their tram.. That's the price where is you walk in and tram

You will get to see many different fruits trees but we are here at the wrong season.. So not much fruits in sight...theres farm animals, and you get to feed them!

This is where archery is... Sheltered but is not meant for those professional players.. Styrofoam board placed on a wooden stand though the bow and arrow is real

We dropped by Baba Charlie on the way back.. they also had a restaurant, however, its not really nearby and to walk under the hot sun

kueh are hand made fresh daily. Bought Odeh-Odeh and some Chinese New Year goodies..

The Odeh-Odeh is highly recommended. Texture is not too chewy or soggy, coated with coconut and sesame. Put the whole piece in your mouth and let gula-melaka flow in your mouth..

We went to this shopping mall recommended by the grab driver while we are on the way back to hotel after having bags of Chinese New year goodies from Baba Charlie

It's a large mall with a departmental store AEON stretched over a few levels.. there is a theatre, retail shops and restaurants

Had our lunch at Garden Recipe... It's a very nicely decorated restaurant.. of cos pricing is lower than eating in Singapore restaurant. They serve quite a variety of food. Pizza, thunder tea rice, fried rice, Western food, pasta

Salmon Fillet with Brown Rice The soup is very light but with taste.. it's not too blend. There's quite a few fried garlic which adds more fragrance. The portion is quite big too!

Grill Salmon with Carbonara. Pasta taste normal.. nothing special and the portion is smaller

In the evening, we are at Jonker Street again! Yes! Where else to be at Malacca for weekend night... The stalls are abt 90% similar to yesterday's.... So we decided to have some authentic nonya food!

Super nice!!! I recommend this restaurant if you were to be nearby!

Chatterz, where we have our breakfast at Hatten
There's much more variety and compared to LiuMen... But it's super super crowded!!!

LiuMen is a more quiet hotel..if you want a break from busyness, but the price is abt double of Hatten.. And LiuMen is located nearer to Jonker Street. If you are a shopping person, there are a few malls a link bridge away from Hatten.. So it depends on your preference

After breakfast, we went to Jonker Street again... On Sunday mornings, there is a flea market till noon.. But by the time I reached, it's past noon.. It's like any normal day where there are shop houses with food, cafe, souvenirs......

We tried this poh piah from this shop..

They also have nonya dumpling, rojak, minced meat noodle

Hmm I find it normal, nothing fantastic.. turnip, fried egg, bean sprouts and pork lard with special sauce wrapped in traditional poh piah skin
The skin is abit more chewy. The selling point is that they included pork lard

On the way back to hotel to collect our luggage and for our coach, we tried this thousand layer mille crepe
