So ramen

So ramen... So long since we eat.. rmb the last time I ate was the pumpkin soup base

This time round find it not as nice alr....ramen soup is not as thick as it was.. though the ramen noodle is still nice

Top up $4 for 2 sides... The pork is not bad, and bamboo shoots... Bamboo shoots is still better in soup

One thing is there maybe msg.... Abit disappointed... yaaa got the "after msg" effect which there isn't previously

Prefer this over cha shu... Meat is very soft and tender

Staycation @ equarius hotel resort world sentosa

 
Thanks to my sister, we are on a stayca again!

This time, we are at Equarius Hotel, Resort World Sentosa for 2D1N

Walkable from VivoCity through the boardwalk, USS, then to hotel Micheal drop off, where there's a shuttle bus

Check in process is quite long... Dont get to enter room after checking in, but is put on waiting area... Not sure why but this is the way they work? But I can say that it's quite crowded

We managed to enter the room at abt 4... It's abt an hr wait!

Super big room, so atas and nice, with balcony

Very spacious, toilet is so big... More than double the size of mine..

Super long sofa with a small coffee table.. so nice to sit here to snack with watching TV

Bough food from Vivo before heading here.. breadtalk cake - matcha and black sesame

Like the black sesame one, matcha is nice but find it Abit too sweet... Cake is soft and fresh

Wok Hey fried rice.. though it doesn't look alot, but it's enough for both of us

Nice Jap soy milk!

I must say they are so nice! Thick and strong matcha, nice potato chips

Need to take a buggy to another hotel for breakfast... Yup, all the hotels are under Resort World you

At 8am + , we are the first?

Nobody... But subsequently ppl starts coming in

nice breakfast... Due to the pandemic, no buffet breakfast, but there's 2 options to choose from

Local delight - nasi lemak with mutton samosa

Western 

At first we wanted to take the different type but rice for breakfast seems too heavy so we had the same... It's sooo nice!! Yes, all are served hot hot, cook to order I guess

Most ordered western only saw a local delight set... Rice portion is so huge... And some chicken tender kind... Yup.. Not the standard fried chicken

So we were "heng" we chose this

Facilities available are gym and swimming pool and reservation are required.. Each reservation is an hr for the pool

I must say the pool is super super nice!!!!

There's rooms "beach villas" too, feels like shaley, really for the big grp

So we actually spent most of the time at the hotel... Didn't really go to any attractions... Yup, we can visit the attractions anytime even without the stayca right... Hehe

We were out once to vivo to buy some food for dinner..

Nice place to relax and stayca... But it comes with a high price too... Abt cost $400++ a nite...

Glad that we were able to check out at 1pm without charge.. we did "manual" check in

Korean buffet!!!! Been craving for it for so long.... It's naturally tend to eat more in a buffet, my husband always say "no lah" but recently cos I had worked hard to loose some bit of kg, yey buffet here I come!!!

It's quite worth it if you eat alot... $15.80++ for weekdays lunch.. normal is $18.80++ and you have 90mins to enjoy your meal

Some of the items are unavailable though..

Chicken drum sticks, assorted mushrooms and veg for our soup

There's a few soup base to choose from... We had kimchi soup, mild spicy.. hmm i still can take the spiciness

Rmb to leave some space for your stomach cos there's fried rice after tt! Using the soup we had for steamboat, the staff will use it to fried rice infront of you... Choose some ingredients to choose from... For us, seaweed is a must and we had double portion!

Food is average though not the super nice kind... Choice is also quite limited.. the menu has quite alot of them are "coming soon" so maybe will come back to try other dishes
Abit like zi char, selling fried rice, hor fun, hokkien mee, fish rice
We had the
signature Penang laksa @ $4.50 it's spicy but not very sourish noodle is nice, chewy
seafood hor fun @ $5.50 quite normal, don't have the wok smell though
ba long long drink @ $3.50.. hmm don't really like the taste of the fruit... Definitely don't taste like like juice as some ppl says

Don Don gz set (2 small bowl of rice - salmon & unagi w egg) served with chawamushi, miso soup and soft shell crab 🦀 and "fruit of the day" @ $22.90++

Sushi 🍣 are for me... Potato salad inari, golden catch and vege roll, @ $2.40++ each plate

Potato salad inari is my must have... Like the potato salad that is topped on the sushi rice wrapped with bean curd and the tiny piece of cheese

Golden catch is okok, fried fish with some veg

Veg roll is also one of my favorite! Like it coated with "veg flakes" and wrapped with avocado and cucumber

Ramen + a side dish + drink from $8.90++ onwards

We chose the same ramen, 1 pc Cha shu, black soup and fried toufu + gyozza for sides

Ramen noodle texture is good but the soup is very blend... Yaaaa, not much taste and the "black" is also very little

Definitely can get better ramen else where, but at least the price is not as high

Gyozza is nice, fried tofu quite common

well fried, sides of it is lightly crispy.. but feels abit too salty though.. like it not too oily

it looks waaa.. base is black, centre is normal milk tea topped with bubbles! But is too sweet!!

So many to choose from.  The fried egg is the must have!!! Though abit oily but it's nice!!

its the 3rd day dine-in is open! but only to fully vanccinated for f&b establishments... so we can only choose hawker and coffee shops... so we came to Old Airport Road Food Centre to have some nice hawker food!

this stall is very famous and the waiting time is soooo long! you dont see the long q cos the uncle will issue a "beep" for dine-in and paper for takeaways

finally food is here! after abt half an hr wait

this is small $5, and theres big $8

its more of a dry fried prawn Hokkien Mee

what i like this the more ratio of bee hoon compared to yellow noodle

hmm, dont think its worth the long wait...

according to my husband, this is a famous wanton mee stall!! but sadly its closed today

so we tried this another stall which looks pretty famous too!

wanton is nice, char siew is normal

noodle is springy... nice!

they offer a wide of noodles... looks good ya? shall try a different type of noodle next time!

This stall located at the back entrance... attracted my attention by it's bright colored signboard and the q... Ya when I return to take pic there's no q alr

It's a halal western stall, reasonable priced and the portion is really big! Yes, for $6, get to choose a base (Aglio olio or butter rice), protein ( fish or chicken), 2 sides and sauce

We had both Aglio olio as the base cos buttered rice has ran out

grilled fish with sides --- fries, coleslaw

crispy fish, with sides --- mashed potatoes, garlic bread

Garlic bread I believe is self prepared... Very strong pranta taste...

portion is so huge tt we shared 1 portion of Aglio olio, proteins and sides... Yup, even my husband a big eater cannot finish it!

i find the food so so... Very very salty, especially the pasta... Fish too is too salty, fries with salt.. yup only the mash potatoes is not

Hmmmm at first was thinking maybe next time we will come back for other food but after we had our dinner.. had a second thought.... Really too salty

But the standard seems to be different alr.. 😔.. kind of disappointed.... But it's still nice 

Minced pork with spicy sauce, to be poured over seaweed fried rice on a hot plate..

Now I prefer chicken risotto which I had few weeks ago

Also tried Ppong, Ro Ppong-Roje... It's actually creamy tomato 🍅 based soup... It's very cheesy... Yup.. if you like 🧀, this is a must have... But my husband says the normal tomato 🍅 soup is better 😄

Also had Lychee yoghurt drink... 500ml !! So much for 2 pax!

It's rich in lychee, don't really taste much yoghurt

 My long long craving... Finally I get the permission to eat volcano rice, but sadly is out of stock.... But I found something else... Soi Chicken Risotto... This is very nice too!!! Recommended by my sis.... 
Unlike the normal risotto I see... This is dry, sticky Japanese rice... Jeju soy sauce with chicken, cabbage and onions topped with botino flakes and mayo.... 😋
And the tomato 🍅 Ppong... Not spicy today, unlike the previous times... Still I like the chewy ppong noodles!!
However, the milk tea is not available alr... Yaaa, it's nice to drink the milk tea with ppong tgt!!!

stir fry chopped garlic followed by onions then add brown button mushrooms

when its cooked, add in tomato sauce and a bit of water, cook till hot and its ready!

this is the tomato sauce we're using... taste is good but its abit too salty, should add slightly more water

used wholemeal spiral pasta... wholemeal is indeed not as nice but a healthier choice! half a bag of pasta, a bottle of sauce, a box of mushroom
